I was in a hotel lobby. The entire hotel had an orange/golden tinge. Imagine a place where almost every surface is bronze and you'll have a close approximation. The lobby appeared to be connected to a mall although when I went to the end of the lobby, it ended at some kind of bazaar with no visible mall entrance.
I got into the elevator. It had over a hundred buttons and the odd thing was the floors were numbered in ascending order going downwards so the entire hotel must be below ground level. Someone pushed the button and so the elevator started moving downwards. As the floor number increased, the air became heavier and heavier until it weighed down noticeably upon my body. Paradoxically though, it became harder to breathe. The elevator went all the way down to floor 100 and then floors T, X and Y where thankfully it stopped and the door opened. Not wishing to get off on that floor, I stayed in the elevator and it started going back up.
When it reached the lobby though, something weird happened. Since the elevator shaft ended right there, the elevator itself floated upwards until it hovered some twenty feet over the lobby. Then it flew around the lobby and followed the stairs up to the level above the lobby and landed in a graceful arc.
Much later, I left the lobby via a side exit. It was cloudy outside. Just outside the door, I nearly bumped into someone wearing a tuxedo and top hat. He seemed to be in a real hurry. I got to my car only to find that, for some inexplicable reason, my car key was bent out of shape. I had to get back to the hotel to retrieve a spare key. When I tried to open the hotel door, it was locked. But I tried it again and it yielded. There was now a troupe of dancers performing live in the hotel lobby but no one else was there to watch them. And with that, the dream ended.
